Dubai Edition – In Weiß
Ein weißer Konzertflügel der Steinway Dubai Edition, dessen Lackierung von Danny Schramm umgesetzt wurde. Die Oberfläche ist bewusst zurückgenommen: ein klares, vielschichtig aufgebautes Weiß, das die Linienführung des Steinway selbst tragen lässt und das Licht des Raums in der Fläche aufnimmt.
Über eine Zeit lang stand das selbstspielende Instrument in der Dubai Mall, frei zugänglich für die Besucher. Es wurde dort zum Anziehungspunkt im Strom der Passanten – ein Flügel, der sich ohne sichtbaren Pianisten zur Aufführung bringt. Zur Premiere der Edition waren wir vor Ort eingeladen.
Dubai Edition – In White
A white grand piano from the Steinway Dubai Edition, with its lacquer carried out by Danny Schramm. The surface is held back deliberately: a clean, multi-layered white that lets the Steinway’s own line stand and that picks up the light of the room across the case.
For a time the self-playing instrument was on display at the Dubai Mall, openly accessible to its visitors. It became a focal point in the flow of the public – a grand piano that brings itself to performance without a visible pianist. We were invited on site for the edition’s premiere.
