Steinway x Disney: Mickey Mouse Limited Edition
Zum 100-jährigen Jubiläum von Disney legte Steinway & Sons eine auf 25 Exemplare limitierte Sonderedition auf, deren Oberfläche jedes Instrument zu einem handgemalten Unikat macht. Das Bildmotiv stammt von der italienischen Künstlerin Elena Salmistraro. Die Lackumsetzung verantwortete Danny Schramm im Steinway-Stammwerk in Hamburg.
Die Lackierung
Auf weißem Grund, der an das Skizzenbrett erinnert, auf dem Mickey Mouse einst gezeichnet wurde, entfalten sich farbige Felder, ein blauer Verlauf und feine goldene Linien, die als goldene Flüsse das Bild zusammenhalten. Jede Schicht wird von Hand aufgetragen und folgt Salmistraros Vorzeichnung präzise, bleibt aber im Pinselstrich lebendig und materialnah. So entsteht aus einem in Serie geplanten Edition-Konzept jedes Mal ein einzeln gemaltes Instrument.

Die Steinway x Disney: Mickey Mouse Limited Edition umfasst 25 Konzertflügel, ausgestattet mit der hauseigenen SPIRIO|r-Technologie und einer Bibliothek von über 100 Disney-Titeln. Die Instrumente werden weltweit ausschließlich auf Anfrage vergeben.
Philharmonie de Paris
Eines der Instrumente wurde in der Philharmonie de Paris fotografiert. Vor dem akustisch und architektonisch markanten Raum tritt die Lackoberfläche besonders deutlich hervor: die Farbübergänge, die Goldlinien, das Spiel von Licht und Schatten auf dem schwarzen Korpus des Flügels.

Steinway x Disney: Mickey Mouse Limited Edition
For Disney’s centenary, Steinway & Sons released a limited edition of 25 instruments whose surface turns each piano into a hand-painted one-off. The motif is by Italian artist Elena Salmistraro. Danny Schramm directed the lacquer execution at the Steinway factory in Hamburg.
The Surface
Over a white ground that recalls the sketchboard on which Mickey Mouse was first drawn, colour fields, a blue gradient and fine gold lines unfold, the lines reading as the golden rivers that hold the image together. Every layer is applied by hand and follows Salmistraro’s drawing with precision, yet stays alive in the brushwork itself. What is planned as a series becomes, each time, a singly painted instrument.
The Edition
The Steinway x Disney: Mickey Mouse Limited Edition comprises 25 grand pianos, each fitted with Steinway’s in-house SPIRIO | r technology and a library of more than 100 Disney titles. The instruments are issued worldwide on request only.
Philharmonie de Paris
One of these instruments was photographed inside the Philharmonie de Paris. Against the hall’s distinctive acoustic and architectural setting, the lacquered surface comes through clearly: the colour transitions, the gold lines, the play of light and shadow across the piano’s black case.
